Border Terrier Breed Overview

The Border Terrier is a working breed originating from the border area between Scotland and England. Its most defining characteristic is its double coat, which is wiry and weather-resistant on the outside, and soft and dense on the inside. Border Terriers are small to medium sized dogs, weighing up to around 22 pounds and measuring up to 16 inches tall at the shoulder. They are even-tempered, energetic, loyal, and devoted to their family. This breed is an excellent hunting and herding companion, as well as an excellent family pet.
