Rafeiro do Alentejo, or also known as the Alentejano Mastiff, is a large breed of dog that has become a companion in households all over the world. Bred first in Portugal, Rafeiro do Alentejo have a large head with a defining stop, a black mask, and a square muzzle. Generally, the breed stands between 25.5 to 28 inches tall and weighs anywhere between 90 to 115 pounds. Moreover, the coat of Rafeiro do Alentejo is short and thick, however it generally sheds very little because of its dense, slick coat.
