It is a middle-sized hound, standing between 16 to 20 inches and weighing between 20 to 25 pounds. It is of a noble and rustic appearance, endowed with a kind and heartfelt nature. Its short haired coat is usually fawn, red, orange, sandy or gray in color with the occasional black mask on the face. The Cirneco dell’Etna possesses a tremendous amount of stamina and active nature.

The Cirneco dell’Etna is very low maintenance when it comes to grooming. Weekly brushing with a soft-bristled brush will keep their short coat looking glossy and healthy at all times.
